SHINING THROUGH THE SPECTRUM

Autism, or ASD is a different experience for everyone. Each person with autism has their own place within the spectrum which makes them unique and different, but also presents it’s own challenges for each individual and family.

Autism affects every day behaviours such as how one feels, thinks, interacts with others and experiences their environment. We believe that providing supported opportunities to participate in the local community, achieving employment and building successful social relationships provides huge benefits to individuals and their families.

HOW WE HELP

Each person with autism will have their own unique strengths and characteristics, as well as their own experiences and challenges.

Common characteristics of individuals with autism include honest or direct communication, extra time in understanding spoken information, discomfort in complex social situations, heightened sensory overwhelm, challenges in regulating emotions, heightened logical thinking, focused attention on a specific interest area. All these characteristics are not just seen as challenges, but wonderful strengths if well supported.

Here at TMCS, we are here to help all ages and genders on the spectrum and can provide guidance and support with daily challenges, life skills, and strategies or coping mechanisms as required.

We believe that developing and empowering a sense of independence in all areas of life can also provide benefits to both the individuals and their families. Our services and programs can be tailored to the support you require.
