HOW WE HELP
Community participation allows individuals with a disability to interact with others and move independently without any support. This means loved ones won’t have to depend on others to shop, eat, or interact with their friends.
Participation in the community can provide a greater sense of independence and empowerment.
TENPIN BOWLING
Bowling is a great inclusive sport for any age and any skill level. There are many physical benefits from playing tenpin bowling including increasedstrength, hand-eye coordination, depth perception and balance.
The social setting of tenpin bowling also enables a sense of achievement or success, growth in self-confidence, increased social skills, plus there is some mathematics thrown in too to add up scores and to determine bowling angles.
SOCIAL GAMING
Video Gaming is often viewed negatively for the percieved lack of social interaction, however they can be a great tool for developing and improving social skills for some people. Multiplayer modes allow interaction with others who have similar interests, decreased feelings of isolation and provides a sense of community.
Games can also help with developmental and team-building skills through teamwork and coorperation. We can help provide opportunities for clients to learn new skills and find a supportive community of like-minded gamers.
COOKING CLASSES
At Two Minds Counselling Services we love helping and sharing the fun of cooking with the general community and those with special needs.
This is a great opportunity to help build confidence, independent skills, capacity and cooking skills too. Best of all, it is a great way to socialise and have fun with others.
HORSE RIDING
Two Minds Counselling Services have teamed up with Eden Valley riding school to offer supported capacity building and mentoring programs.
We can help with tailored care plans that are benchmarked and monitored in a team approach for maximum benefits. Working with the school to have a carefully structured plan that is person centred and delivered in a safe and calming environment.
SOCIAL OUTINGS
Social outings can be a game-changer. Offering a chance to connect with others, build friendships, and combat feelings of isolation. Whether it’s simply grabbing coffee or exploring new areas, this participation can boost confidence and improve mental and emotional well-being.
